pucker up

I haven't been kissed on New Year's eve for years (on any eve or morn for that matter).

And I haven't been to Alabama or Georgia yet.

I can't help making the association, it must be that all of the less discerning, 'ladies who spontaneously kiss strangers at the turn of the year' must live in the southern states?

I do enjoy an anymous good time, and it's my plan to put on my black tie and slip in through the back door of a party, and lie low - there's nothing better than being among a crowd of people who are enjoying themselves without being noticed. And then offer my kiss to anyone (feminine) who looks a little lost at 11.59pm.

Seems like a good idea to me, unless any of you know better.

Southern American Ladies always seem so romantic in the films.

Good luck!

Just be careful -- you may end up with a drunken slap across the face circa 12:01 a.m. :)

Oh, honey - don't count on Alabama as a good setting for random, electric, life-changing NYE kisses. You've got to make it happen where you are. Besides, I can guarantee you that most of the folks in Alabama would rather be in London (or at least have most of their teeth).

Riddle me this - if it (*it* being the monumental film-worthy NYE smooching) doesn't happen, what will happen to you? Don't get me wrong, I like that sort of romanticized, idealistic version of New Year's Eve. It's usually much better than what I usually end up doing, that's for sure - but, will you be any less of a man? Any less worthy of some gorgeous young thing's affection? Nah. I wouldn't sweat it. Besides, those sorts of life-altering, mind-blowing experiences tend to happen when you least expect it. I think what I'm saying is you're more likely to meet your own Ms. Hotstuff while you're in sweats on a run to the grocer than you are spiffed up in a tux for a grand night out.

Ah Colin,

I'll say that this southern girl would lay one on ya for New Years. ;-) How about being with someone for 4 years and no kiss? Every eve, no kiss. lol Not even girl on girl!! Darned the luck.

Previous comment rescinded after your subsequent comment on my blog... Dress up like you mean it, drink strangers' champagne (lots of it), and grab someone and plant one on her. I say have a great time at that party... or parties depending on how much "crashing" you're up for. And when it's done I want to hear all about it! :)

just look for the girl who is stading forlorn by the bar. she's drunk and she's forlorn... those are the best kinds of girls. ;)

Since I turned 16, I never had a kiss during New Year's eve. At first I was not really amenable with the idea. Gradually, I learned that it is part of life. Some things are bound to be left in time.

Sounds like a plan to me! Where will you be for New Years?

I don't remember ever getting a good kiss on New Year's Eve either, not even on the ones when I've been with someone. I find New Year's Eve kind of depressing because of that.

Come to New York and party with us. None of that Times Square touristy crap, either.
